We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible Research Associate to join the T-Cell Receptor Discovery team at our Cambridge site in the UK.
The successful candidate will have experience with standard molecular biology techniques, and knowledge of modern cloning and molecular biology techniques, such as golden-gate cloning and Gibson assembly. In addition, you will have a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for organizing work flows and data management. You will work within a small team, and be responsible for coordinating molecular biology work flows with other people in the team to ensure smooth running of experiments and data collection.
The successful candidate is expected to work independently to design, execute, and interpret experiments. These experiments will contribute to the team's effort to create more potent immunotherapies, with emphasis on cell therapies. The candidate is expected to be a visible and vital member of a highly collaborative research environment within Agenus and with our internal and external partners. The candidate will have strong supervisory expertise and contribute to program development and prioritization.
AgenTus Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company, and subsidiary of Agenus Inc, focusing on the discovery, development, and commercialization of breakthrough “living drugs” to advance cures for cancer patients. AgenTus employs naturally-derived and engineered receptors, specifically T Cell Receptors (TCRs) and Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs), designed to supercharge human immune effector cells to seek and destroy cancer. AgenTus will also aim to advance adoptive cell therapy formats which would enable off-the-shelf living drugs.
PhD or MS degree in biology or biotechnology with relevant laboratory experience is required. The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in molecular biology. Knowledge of immunology or cancer biology would be advantageous but not required.
