    Agenus is a world leader in Immuno-therapies, and prides itself in utilising the bodies’ own immune system to fight cancer. It does this through the combinations of antibody based, vaccine and cell therapies.

     

    Agenus-UK is a newly opened site in the heart of Cambridge. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Discovery Technology Group for the development of antibody based therapeutics.  This group is primarily focused on bringing in new technologies and platforms into Agenus worldwide. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to join a motivated group.

    Responsibilities

    • Prior experience with antibodies, particularly antibody engineering is essential.
    • Good molecular biology skills like cloning, site directed mutagenesis, sequence analysis and vectorology.
    • Some cell biology experience, particularly in small scale expression and transfection of antibodies. Experience with antibody purification is highly desirable.
    • Experience with BIAcore or ELISA, or other screening platforms is also highly desirable.
    • Experience with high throughput screening and automation is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills. Can work effectively as part of a small multi disciplinary team
    • Willingness to present data, both locally and company wide
    • Experience with bispecifics is highly desirable
    • Able to interrogate their own work and work critically, to high standards

    Responsibilities

    • Expected to work independently on technology development and to report to the technology group. Able to design experiments and is highly motivated
    • Able to present on data and to integrate new technologies throughout Agenus
    • Give regular presentations to the Agenus UK group, and beyond via laboratory meetings and journal clubs
    • Laboratory based – is willing to take the lead within the laboratory and serve as subject matter expert
    • Willing to take on additional responsibilities to set up facilities at the new site

    Qualifications

    • MSc with <5 industrial experience or PhD in a biological science/biochemistry discipline. Experience in an industrial setting is desirable
